We are planning a project that will require a portable, handheld, battery-powered RFID reader that can read a passive RFID tag from a distance of up to 20 feet (about 6.1 meters). The data on the tag will be extremely minimal -- just a ten-digit number. For the RFID reader, we require something that is small -- the smaller the better. We prefer that it have a length no greater than 4 inches (about 100mm), a width no greater than 2½ inches (about 60 mm), and a thickness no greater than ½ inch (about 13 mm).
We need the RFID reader to be relatively inexpensive, meaning a cost to us of under $50.00 US per unit when purchased in quantities of 10,000. Can you work with us on this? |
